How does blocking of IP-addresses work?

When blocking an IP-address and Redirect URL is left empty, than visitors from the blocked IP-address should be redirected to the home page. Are they redirected when the just visit the web site or only when they are trying to register/login?

I just don't want to test how the blocking works without knowing if I won't get access to the back-end and delete the IP-address.

Will blocking of one's own IP-address prevent access to back-end?

Hello!

This extension prevents users from registering on your site.

So, if you enable blocking on ip, users with that ip will not be able to register on your site. They will be able to access the site just as usual, but they cannot register
