Hello,

We have installed Hot or Not on our site.

When the image I want to upload is a PNG, then the new post is not created after I submit.

I re-saved the same image to a JPG and then was able to post that JPG version of the image to Hot or Not.

Both images (PNG and JPG) were small, and well within the file size limits.

The instructions indicate that PNG images are allowed, but they do not seem to work.

Any suggestions? Is there a setting in the admin for which file types are allowed (not just specifying file sizes)?

The extension settings are all visible in the backend.
Check if you have other restrictions on your Joomla installation.
Also check to re-save the image as PNG, perhaps the files are not really PNG files, even if they have the extension.

Thank you for responding. There might have been an issue with the PNG file that I attempted to upload.

I want to be able to control which file types that users can upload.

I had already checked the backend thoroughly for any place where file types (not sizes) are specified and did not find a setting for this.

Question: Does Hot or Not have file type settings? If I need to control or change the files that can be uploaded to Hot or Not (different from the overall Joomla site settings), does hot-or-not provide this?

The supported file types are:
png, jpg, jpeg, gif

There is no interface to select only the jpg pr png.
