Does your website contain valuable content?

Would you like to sell this content as an eBook?

Or perhaps, just send out newsletters with a PDF attachement of your content?

Have you ever considered that your website may have articles that could be gathered in an eBook format?

Well, we have some exciting news for you: all of this is possible with the new eBook Factory 1.0 Joomla component.

Since Joomla’s own PDF engine is merely a basic text to pdf convertor, we put our best work into developing a component. This component not only respects the standard layout of an eBook, but also includes Graphics, Fonts, and External Links that you used in your content.

After installing the new Component, just as you would any other Joomla component; you may immediately unleash its features.

All of your work is done in the administration panel of Joomla. There, you can create a set of eBooks containing Chapters and subchapters from your content items. You can use the Sections and/or Categories: as Chapter titles, as well as Subchapters. All of the Page numbering, and Table of Contents numbering is done automatically. You will be able to choose between Roman, Arbic numbering, and even have the option to use letters for subchapters.

Fonts and styles can be set for each eBook individually, and you can use a cover image to brand your eBook.

Any eBook can have unlimited numbers of columns, which will aid in making your eBook look professional, and easy to read.

Read our "eBook Factory Tutorial" to get a quick walkthrough through all the Components Features and Configuration Options.

The good news is, you can test all of these features using our Demo Server! (in the administrator backend please login as user "demo" using password "demo")

If you would like a preview, you can check out a generated eBook, by following this link.

rss Factory 1.0 is the follow-up of the later RSSReader2 - a well known Joomla Component provided by Softmarket.ro.

We, Skepsis Consult aquired last fall Softmarket in order to add professional Joomla knowledge to our Company. All our products can now be found in our shop under www.thefactory.ro. We did set the new download location and pushed the component to its next version.

In the previous life as RSSReader2, our component had over 7000 downloads, and is indexed in Google in over 750 sites!

If you decide to choose the relevant topics, RSS Feeds are simple and clean ways to direct genuine traffic towards your site. You will be pleasantly surprised with the results.

Since the “old days”, the rssFactory contained a lot of features. Such as, the most outstanding listings that we can count:

  • Easy install and uninstall
  • The component is based on MagpieRSS and supports  RSS 0.9, RSS 1.0, the various Userland RSS verions (0.9x and 2.0); additionally it supports Atom 0.3, and many custom RSS namespaces
  • RSS categories – an easy way to categorize your feeds, and group them by specific topics
  • Session based tracking of already readed news (Feeds will appear “unchecked” if they have already been read)
  • Ad Banners and Adsense integration
  • Customized output styles; all easy manageable through configuration
  • Automatic unpublishing of erronous feeds

HOW-TO:

  • refresh RSS feeds using CRON (if your hosting supports CRON jobs):

lynx -accept_all_cookies -dump 'http://[HereYourSiteName]/index.php?option=com_rssfactory&task=refresh&password= [HereYourPass]'
